Founder and Executive Director

Dr. David Kyle Foster - (M-Div - Trinity Evangelical Divinity School; D-Min - Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry) Before his salvation in 1980, David struggled with a serious bondage to pornography and other sexually addictive behaviors. He is the author of Sexual Healing: A Biblical Guide to Finding Freedom from Sexual Sin and Brokenness, which has been made into an "Angel Award" winning video and audio course and has been used by Prison Fellowship, Insight for Living, Jesse Duplantis and Josh McDowell Ministries, Teen Challenge, Exodus International, Youth With a Mission and many other ministries. His most recent book, Transformed Into His Image: Hidden Steps on the Journey to Christlikeness, shows believers how to live the life of holiness that God desires, and has a Foreword by Dr. J.I. Packer. David has served as adjunct professor at Asbury Theological Seminary, The Bible Institute of Hawaii, Logos Christian College & Graduate School and Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry and currently serves on the faculty of the Wagner Leadership Institute. His magazine articles have appeared in New Man, Charisma, Touchstone, Rev Magazine, Sursum Corda, and Youth Ministry Update. He has spoken worldwide on the healing of sin and brokenness, has appeared on The 700 Club, The Dr. Phil Show, The Coral Ridge Hour, The Abundant Life, Cope, His Place, Home Life, and has been the host of Covenant Award winning "Mastering Life" on the Focus on the Family Radio Network. David founded Mastering Life Ministries in 1987 and has been its director ever since. He is also the producer and host of "Pure Passion" - a televised outreach designed to equip the church to redemptively minister to those who are trapped in sexual sin and brokenness. "Pure Passion" made its national debut on the Christian Television Network and Sky Angel Satellite Network in September of 2006. The goal of the program is to tell the world of God's grace and love through Jesus Christ and His power to set anyone free from any sin or bondage. Dr. Foster makes his home in Nashville, TN.

Board of Directors

Joe Allen serves on the Board of Directors of Mastering Life Ministries. He and his wife Marion travel and speak on issues related to sexual brokenness and parenthood in churches and conferences around the country. They’re often seen manning an exhibit booth for Mastering Life Ministries and our parents support group “Hope for the Broken Heart” at large events and were hosts for our monthly parents group in Folkston, Georgia for several years. Now living in Opelika, Alabama, Joe & Marion are planning to start a new support group there.

Jerry Bryant is the leader of the House2House movement in Nashville, TN. Jerry was born into a home of traveling Methodist evangelists. During the seventies, he became pastor of "Last Days Community" with Keith and Melody Green before being ordained into the new "Vineyard Christian Fellowship" movement. Jerry was also a pioneer of contemporary Christian music radio and his weekly show, "Jesus Solid Rock", has been heard on over 100 stations. His current radio show is called "Full Circle Jesus Music" and can be heard at www.fullcirclejesusmusic.com.

John E. Hunt, Jr. graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Business Administration/Petroleum Land Management degree in 1980. He was in the oil and gas business off and on for about 25 years. John's heart specifically burns for the restoration of men, their families and subsequently God’s Church to the fullness of life that God intends and has been involved in the "Living Waters" program and "First Stone Ministries" in Oklahoma City as well as several men's groups in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. John is also involved with Bridges for Peace, YWAM and John 3:16 Mission in Tulsa, OK. John has been married for 30+ years to Jamie, has two sons - Josh and John Michael - and a west highland terrier named Muggsy. John and Jamie live in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Dr. Richard Marks has earned a Ph.D. in Psychology and Counseling as well as a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling, a Master of Arts in Religious Education, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Dr. Marks is also a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. In addition to serving as a State Commissioner for the Florida Commission on Marriage and Family Support Initiatives, he has also worked in mental health and faith-based organizations for over 20 years.

Prior to becoming the Executive Director, he established and developed The Center for Family Ministry for the 26,000 member First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. Dr. Marks also served as an Assistant Professor of Counseling at Regent University and maintained a private practice conducting individual, group, marriage and family therapy.

He is a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy as well as a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. He is active with the Coalition for Marriage, Family and Couples Education and has been a keynote and seminar speaker at the annual SmartMarriage conference.

Dr. Marks has co-authored a guide for Christian marriages with Dr. Lori Gordon titled: Christian PAIRS. PAIRS has been endorsed by the State of Florida as the marriage education program to be implemented statewide by the Fatherhood Commission. Additionally, he has been on national television and radio shows such as COPE, Life Perspectives, and the 700 Club. Dr. Marks is a trainer for nationally recognized educational relationship programs such as PAIRS, Family Wellness, PREP and Christian PREP, Compassionate Parenting, Intimate Life Ministries, Prepare Enrich, Relationship Enhancement, PEERS as well as the 7 Habits for Healthy Marriages/Families.
